Hi,
Can someone tell me if can I activate Service Broker on a database and doesn't use this feature for some (or long) time?
Can I get bad performance on my database?
I mean, I'm learning about SB (Service Broker) and I want to implement, but I canยดt for now, because I don't know how to do it. I want to leave database ready for use this feature when I understand how to implement properly.
I ask this, because some created databases show an error msg when I try to activate SB after structure is created, but if I create again the databases and activate SB before to create all structure (tables and relationships) I dont have problems to activate.
I will try to implement this feature for take an history of movements in my database and audit.
Thanks in advance for help ๐

It depends what you mean by activate. Just turn it on, no. If you enable queues and something puts data in them, then it could affect performance if the queues are not being processed.
