SQL Server Magazine Reveals New Name for the Brand

Did you hear the news?  SQL Server Magazine has a new name - it's now called SQL Server Pro!  Read on to find out the details.

In the world of print, there are a shrinking number of specified SQL Server professional publications out there.  They also have a huge following and hit ratio on the web, among other sql server community sites.  The uniqueness here, is that they have a print version in circulation. Many have tried and failed, but the premier print publication SQL Server Magazine remains strong, and continues to arrive at our door on a monthly basis.  As a testament to their longevity, they recently decided to change their name.  So, it is now SQL Server Pro.  What is the deal behind this name change?  Well, one can assume that they wanted to keep it fresh, repackaging and reinventing itself with a new name and logo, as companies do from time to time.  More likely, Penton Media, the parent company of SQL Server Pro, wanted to keep it aligned and branded with their other print and online assets already similarly named, WindowsITPro, DevProConnections, SharePointPro, CloudITPro,and MobileDevPro .  Most of these are available in print and online.

The executive editor of SQL Server Pro at Penton Media, Megan Keller, wanted to share the news with the entire SQL Server Community, and enlisted many of the top writers, bloggers and contributors there to spread the word.  You too can help, via LinkedIn and Twitter, and use the following text to let your followers and connections know:
