I am looking forward to get a job in the USA. And I don't have residence permit.
May be anyone have such experience and successfully got a job? Can you give me any tips?
I am currently hold MCM 2008.

Other than finding a sponsor, I have no idea but anyone with an MCM should be given a whack at it. Hopefully, my response will serve as a "bump" for this thread and someone can help.

I am looking for a job offer. I just created resume on monster.com and applied for several positions. And I got just several rejects because I am not citizen / don't have residence permit.

It might take some time. In any event you will need to come to US first. I doubt that someone would hire a person without seeing him first.

I know a number of people with H1 visa, but they all got their status while staying in US.

Meanwhile you can broaden your search by sending your resumes directly to staff agencies located in US and/or getting in touch with similar job hunters located overseas.

You want to move out from Russia or just want to work in US?

I don’t think that dealing with a one or two agencies will do any good for you. They play by the job specs and most of the times ( I can say that from my previous job hunting experience) those jobs specs are being received by a quite a big number of head hunters.

I would recommend you to do the following: try to get a job first in US company having offices in Moscow or St.Pete and apply there. Once get a job there it would be easier for you to make the next move.

Keep sending your resumes.

Additionally post your resume on Dice.

I know that in the past such countries as Canada, some of EU countries, NZ welcomed IT specialists. If it is still true, maybe you can apply there.

I just want to work in the US. I thought that the US is welcome for immigrants, because it is immigrants country. But now I starting understand that it is not true for nowadays...

And it looks like achieving MCM don't make any difference. I just regret of money and time waste on it. :angry:

There are certain rules which you have to follow if you want to achieve the desired outcome.

Also there is a difference between immigration and getting a job in US. Please keep that in mind.

You can't say that!

You defentely spent your time and money wisely, since you invested in yourself.

All you have to do now is to come up with a sound plan and stick to it.
