Dear Gurus,
Can you please let me know why SQL server is taking more than 2 GB of RAM even PAE switch is not being added in boot.ini?
Following are the system credentials, on which this activity has been performed:
System RAM :8GB
OS :32bit
AWE :Checked
Maximum Server memory with in SQL Server :8GB
Maximum Ram consumption with PAE: 7.49GB
Maximum Ram consumption without PAE: 7.48GB
Thanks

Having AWE enabled allows the system to address up to 4GB of RAM, the actual limit for a 32-bit system. 2GB is the artificial limit based on how Windows divides the 4GB of memory, 2GB each for kernel and user-mode processes.
