Delete Tempdb Files which are in use

  Good Day,

  I did an investigation on one of my SQL Server 2000 Systems and found that there are two data files for Tempdb on the same disk . I wan to delete one of them . I could not find any posts on the web how to do it . Can it be done or should it be rather left as t is ?

  you would have to ALTER the database to remove the file. and with it being tempdb, you would have to restart the sql services.

  i would leave it alone.
