why i can't grant any permission to current server?

    i create a user in sql server 2008,i login with it .(it has sysadmin and public server role)

    with this user i try to grant a permission to the current server.so i cheched the check boxes that i want and click "ok". now i come back to server properties page / permissions ,for certitude ,but all the permission that i granted now is unchecked.please help me about it.

    You do know that by virtue of making this login sysadmin, it already has all the rights and privledges without having to explicitly granting them. Sysadmin has all rights on the instance.
