Hi all,
I have to report on which editions and versions of SQL we have installed in our environment. I can get the Version info easy enough. But we have 2 boxes, One a 2005 box and the other 2000. That only have SSAS installed. I cant seem to find a way to work out which edition they are using.
Anyone know a way to get it?
Thanks

2005 you can connect to the SSAS server is SSMS and it will show you the version number as it does if you connect to the engine.
Unsure on 2000, would of thought the same, but dont have a 2000 server any more to play with so cant advise on that.

Hi sir,
thanks for the reply.
Any ideas on how to get the edition?
For the 2000 box.
I have gone though the registry keys for HKLM-Software-Microsoft-Microsoft SQL Server + MSSQLServer and found no mention of it.
I have however. now found a License.txt in C:/program files/microsoft sql server/mssql/reporting services
which says
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services, Developer Edition
so far its the only mention of edition i can find...
Thanks

Google may be your friend on the 2000 side of things, as I say I dont have SQL 2000 any more so cant advise on that.
