Latest SQL Server 2008 R2 patch

  • I'm struggling to find out what the latest patch is for SQL Server 2008 R2.

I need to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition 64-bit but I thought SP2 was enough. However it appears there are some cumulative updates available but not sure how to find the latest one.

    Is this the latest? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2754552

    Any ideas?

  • I've installed SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP2 now I want to install the latest Cumulative updates which I also downloaded from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2754552#appliesto and this is what happened:

I ran the SQLServer2008R2-KB2754552-x86.exe file and went through the installation then re-started the server but when I check the version of SQL it doesn't show the correct build number which is 10.50.4266.

Then I tried to re-install but now it just says there is no SQL instance to update?!

    Anyone experience this problem?
