SQL server 2008....stand alone.
Windows 2008 r2 SP1
I have been trying to install a SQL server default instance basically through out the day. 🙂
However, its failing to install all the engine services....like.....Database engine services, SQL server replication, full text search, analysis services, reporting services.
Integration services and other shared components are successfully installing.
I tried to uninstall the whole thing and tried to reinstall...couple of times, still same results.
I searched on google and found article saying that with windows server 2008R2, I need to install service pack 1 or latest service pack......and I did install service pack 3, however, same results.
Please advise.
Thanks,
SueTons

Is that the only error message you got? From that it is very difficult to tell you something. I found something similar on connect, check the link "http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/542754/net-runtime-errors-after-installing-sql-2008-sp1-update"
