Hello...
I arrived at my station at new work with very little software installed. All installs were default, nothing prepared for me at all... I'm the only person here who knows anything about SSRS so can't ask anyone. My experience with SSRS is mostly SQL 2008 R2 or 2005, so I was a little confused with the new Data Tools.
Here is what happened.
My SQL (2012) was installed without Reporting Services... I had no clue.
I installed VS 2012, thinking it will install Data Tools so I can start writing reports...
And... no SSRS, to my surprise.
I thought I messed something up while installing VS so I installed (mistake of trusting ANY website out there) VS 2010 Shell.
No SSRS.
So after a new research, I realized that my SQL installation was not full but just the sql engine. :crying:
So, after re-doing the SQL 2012 set up, I have Data Tools but only for VS 2010 shell. I really need to work on VS2012. How do I correct my botched machine set up?
I'll appreciate some advice here. Don't want to mess it up more...

I think 2010 is the current shell for SQL 2012. Have a peek at this:

Mark is right. You need Visual Studio 2010 to develop SSRS reports.
Either you install the full Visual Studio 2010 software and install the SSDT templates using the SQL Server setup, or you don't install VS 2010 and you install the VS 2010 shell with SSDT templates using the SQL Server setup.
Need an answer? No, you need a question

You can also install Report Builder 3.0 to create your SSRS reports.

Thank guys! I had no clue VS 2012 with data tools has no report building capability. 🙂
I really liked Report builder 3.0. I might get that :w00t:
