Has anyone downloaded or know where I can get SQL Server 2012 upgrade advisor? The link on Microsoft site is seems to be broken.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144256%28v=sql.110%29.aspx
"Upgrade Advisor is available in the Servers\redist\Upgrade Advisor folder of the SQL Server installation media, and from the Microsoft Download Center." <-- could not find it here.
thank you

You can download the upgrade advisor from the following location. It has both 64 and 32 bit versions.

I thought that MS had replaced the upgrade advisor with the Data Migration Assistant:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53595
That is what we use at work to determine if SQL can be upgraded or not and it allows you to pick the SQL version you want to upgrade to.
The above is all just my opinion on what you should do.
As with all advice you find on a random internet forum - you shouldn't blindly follow it. Always test on a test server to see if there is negative side effects before making changes to live!
I recommend you NEVER run "random code" you found online on any system you care about UNLESS you understand and can verify the code OR you don't care if the code trashes your system.
