Hi,
I have been assigned to take interviews and select a suitable candidate for a SQL Server DBA position.
I just want to know some guidelines on how to start an interview and get start asking questions that we want from the candidate and finalize the right candidate..
Thanks

For starters, you need to know what the desired skillset of the employee needs to be. You will want to ask questions that try to show a little character from the candidate and that will help determine if that character is in line with the overall group character where you work.
I typically throw a few easy questions out to start to let them settle in. Then the questions get progressively harder. If the candidate tries to lie their way through a question, you should be able to sniff that out. Those candidates typically get eliminated from the pool.

The manager who did my third interview where I now work actually researched me. He read my blogs, articles, and asked questions based of those as well.
