How to find Which SQL Server instance is taking 100% CPU

    Hi,

    We have 3 SQL Server 2008 R2 instance on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit.

    The server is constantly taking 100 % CPU.

    In task manager, it's showing up sqlservr.exe is taking 100% CPU. But unable to Identify which instance is causing this 100% CPU out of 3 instances.

    How to identify that?

    should be very easy.

    Start The Task Manager.

    make sure you check the "show processes from all users' checkbox.

    order by name or cpu to find the offending service.

    right click onthe process in question..easiest way is "Go To Service(s), and it will select the service that is running. poof...now you know the name of the offending service.

    right click on that same service and choose "go To Process to get back to teh "normal" view.
