I'm creatint a link server to connect to DB2 database using SQL Server 2008 r2 and I'm getting the error below. Any help will appreciated.
Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "IBMDADB2.DB2uuuu" for linked server "xxxxxxxx".
OLE DB provider "IBMDADB2.DB2uuuuu" for linked server "xxxxxxxx" returned message " SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system. SQLSTATE=58031
". (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

Using the text right in your error message...
"Full Error Text

SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system.
Explanation: The system database directory or local database directory could not be found. A database has not been created or it was not cataloged correctly. "

Sounds like your DB2 database is not properly configured???
