Well at the PASS Summit at least. The Summit is trying to make sure that all of our first timers get the full experience of the Summit. It can be a bit overwhelming the first time you attend the largest SQL Server event in the world. I know it was for me. There is so much more to the Summit than just attending the training sessions.
To get the full experience one needs to know about all the social activities, have an active twitter account, and know what they want to get out of the event. There are so many sessions to chose from that you really do need to plan it out way ahead of time. Have an alternate as well and schedule in a few breaks. There is a reason why the DVD’s of all the content only cost $125.00 They are cheap so you can afford to buy them and caught all the content you could get while at the Summit. The amount of money they cost likely doesn’t cover the cost of the DVD’s.
This will be my third year attending the Summit. I look forward to it each year. This year I am participating in the Big Brother / Big Sister program where I have been assigned 8 folks to look after. I get to reach out to each of them before the Summit, meet up with them at the Summit and then be available for them during the event. It will be a lot of fun and I hope to make a great impression on my siblings. My goal is to make their Summit experience the absolute best.
Stay tuned to hear more about this wonderful journey.
