Hi, i have a question about SQL2008 enterprise edition license cost.
i have a server, 2 physical processors, 8 cores for each processor.
i am going to setup a vm on this server as my SQL db server, assign 4 virtual processors to this vm. i need enterprise edition.
in my case, how to count the license cost? i am only interested in 'per processor' license, since i have handreds of users, don't want to count in 'per user' mode.
please help. THANKS!

I have attached the quick reference guides to licensing for 2008R2 and 2012, you might still be able to purchase 2k8 licenses but if not you will need to follow the 2012 licensing rules.
As with anything reguardling licensing, best to speak to MS directly or your MS reseller.
