    what are the differences b/e Sql mail vs db mail ?

    can any one send the possible questions to prepare in clustering ?

    SQL mail vs DBmail

    biggest difference is SQL mail uses MAPI and DBmail used SMTP. use dbmail as it is more secure and does not need a mail client installed on the server.

    DBMail also introduced notifications if i remember correctly

    Another difference is that SQL Mail is deprecated. Straight from BOL:

    This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature. To send mail from SQL Server, use Database Mail.
