  • Rather a broad question - have you any specific error messages to go on? In what context was this asked?

    Mike

  • it was a question given to me in an interview can you believe it?

  • i agree broad is an under-statement i should have answered then the machine should be switched off

  • aw dang... and me thought there really is a problem.. this is just a typical LOGIC question being asked in interviews. the interviewer nailed you man. hahaha

That's a question designed to test your ability to troubleshoot a problem, your first instincts, your approach and the steps you'll take.

The first thing you'd need to ask the interviewer is what he means by 'not working'

  • thanks i agree hahaha

  • i did as i said in the first text

  • ok i said the first thing that came to mind was to do a defrag i mean i was overtaken by nerves and it being my first interview since 1996

  • he just said its not working

he just said its not working

Then you would need to ask him for clarification. 'Not working' is useless as a description of a problem.
