Sage/Accpac/PSQL support for MSSQL08

  • Hello

I am a tech supporting a small lan.

We are looking to replace our accounting package to the above named product. We already have mssql08r2 installed - our porfolio mgmt software runs on top of that.

In reading some of sage's info (as well as psql info), I see that sage accpac V6 supports mssql.

I am looking to get some understanding as to what that means exactly since it seems to me that psql (which is required for accpac6) is sort of it's own dbms. Can someone enlighten me in simple terms please.

    Thank you very much

I think that you have the choice of using SQL Server, PSQL (Pervasive) or Oracle as a back-end. Either way, in case of doubts I would call the vendor's technical support department.

  • I have several clients running Accpac on SQL Server 2008 R2 as well as just SQL Server 2008. You should be ok with Accpac on SQL Server.
