Setting up a home environment

  • I'm trying to use an old HP laptop to set up a playground environment at home. I want to put at least 2008 Developer with room for 2012 Developer. If I can I want to put more than 1 instance of each. I don't know if I have room for it but I would love to set up a domain server.

Does anyone know of a good walkthrough to get the environment set up? I realize I'm somewhat limited given the specs. so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the specs for the laptop.

    2 Drives

    139 gb

10 gb (I think this is a logical drive so could probably be rolled into the other one)

    3gb RAM

    Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz

  • I think you should read the following:

Pay partcular attention to the operating system requierments for SQL 2012

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
