I try to install SQL Server 2008 R2 and i 've problem with installation. I had a SQL Server 2008, and i uninstall them with Add/remove, Perfect uninstaller and other uninstallers, but I can't to install R2, problem is in Sql Server Management Studio, i can install all, but can't Management Studio why?
If someone now please help???

I was first this problem http://www.thushanfernando.com/index.php/2008/08/10/fix-rule-previous-releases-of-microsoft-visual-studio-2008-failed/
and i solved them when i uninstall this: Visual Studio 2008 Shell (integrated mode), Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2.0, after that, installation was completed but on finish i 've this message "SQL Server Management Studio not installed correctly", i try many times after first time, but nothing, same problem.

Hi,
I think you are not installed Visual studio properly & you can download the Management tool separately...

Hi guys, i have another problem with installation SQL Server.
Here's actually what happens during setup:
Setup Support Rules screen (all passed, no warnings),
Product Key screen (entered a valid product key),
License Terms screen (accepted),
Setup Support Files screen (clicked Install).
Than the setup window closes, and nothing happens, no errors, nothing at all. No logs seem to be saved.
I was try with R2 full edition, express edition, sp1 edition.
I try to clean registry with C cleaner, and try to install again but nothing.
I 've before same problem but i solved them when i download SQL Server again, but now there don't want.
