I installed a new SQL Server 2005 on a 2 node cluster which had 1 instance.
The existing instance has port number as 1433.
The new instance has a port number 51890.
AM sure, any SQL Server installation would get installed with 1433 as the port.
Can we conclude that somebody manually changed the port number to 51890?

Is the existing instance a default instance?
Is the new instance a named instance?

You are right about both
