Our StandBy server had power failure for some time (18 hours) and now both servers (Primary-PS and StandBy-SS) are out of sync. Can you please confirm the steps I need to follow to reinitialize(to sync) Log Shipping:
1) Disable Log Shipping jobs on both servers;
2) Make Full backup on PS and restore on SS with StandBy, Replace (NoRecovery?- not sure) options
3) Run manually Log Shipping job on PS and SS to be sure Log Shipping is OK
4) Enable Log Shipping jobs
Anything missing or wrong?
Thanks, Yuri

You have set the retention period of how many days on primary server.
If it is of 3 days then you don't need to do anything,it will automatically come in sync within few hours.

It seems it happened already as on StandBy server Log Shipping jobs are running successfully 🙂
Just couple more questions: 1) StandBy Server DB is in Loading state- is this OK (not StandBy)?
2) How I can check this retention period?
Thanks

1)Whats loading state it can either be norecovery mode(where database is not accessible) or standby mode where database is in read only mode.
2)You can check your retention period on your primary server by default it is 3 days.
On primary server where your log backups happen there you have to check how many days log backup you have which will decide your retention period.
