After I downloaded and installed the AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe (the Access 2010 redistributable package on 64 bit - the server is a 64bit system) when I try to define a OLE DB source in BIDS, I don't have the "Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine ..." provider in the "Native OLEDB" list. I tried a "ADO.NET source" and of course this provider is not there either...
Please, I need help on this, what I did wrong?
In Control Panel / Programs and Features, I have "Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English)" installed

Nobody has any idea about this? How is it possible to debug this issue? I suppose I should check if some DLL's are registered or not, or maybe something else?

It seems I found a solution but it is really weird....
I assumed that if I have Windows 2008 on 64bits and SQL Server 2008 on 64bit then I should use the 64bit database engine (the _x64 file). But after I uninstalled that one and tried the 32bit edition of MS Access database engine, everything is just perfect ...
Note that the server is a dedicated machine, there isn't any Office installed on it.
Now I have another question: when the 64bit edition should be used? Or the 64bit engine is just buggy?
