I have 50 instances in my server and wanted to remove some instances so that I can add instances. After I select any instance to uninstall, setup just hangs forever saying "please wait". I have looked into log files which says error ""Slp: QueryDiscoveryForTransforms: No more transforms are available because the maximum 50 has been reached". Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. 50 instances? Are you joking?
I've never heard of anyone hitting the instances limit. :w00t:
50 is the maximum number of inctances you can install on a standalone server. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143432.aspx
For clustered instances, the limit is 25.

I know that maximum 50 instances can installed on a stand alone server. I am trying to remove some instances so that we can add more for new customer. But homehow setup thinks I am trying to add more which is not the case.
