Hello All,
I am attempting to copy records from a table on a local server (SQL Server 2008 Express instance running on my laptop) to a network SQL Server (2000). The network server is setup as a "linked Server" in the local instance.
Running the following query, yields the following error:
USE NJREPORT
GO
SELECT *
INTO NJLAW01DBA01.NJMIVIS
FROM NJAS
---------------------------------------
Msg 2760, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
The specified schema name "NJLAW01DBA01" either does not exist or you do not have permission to use it.
NJLAW01DBA01 is the linked server
NJAS is a table in my local instance
I hope I have provided enough information. I apprectiate any assistance you might offer.

You have to provide more than just the linkserver.
linkserver.database.schema.table
does that help?
