G’day,
I recently received a brand new windows 7 virtual machine for my every day work use and one of the first things that I did was install SQL SERVER 2008 developer edition on it.
As I’d expect, this was a pretty straight forward task and before long I had a working SQL instance on my desktop.
During the day I made a configuration change that required me to re-cycle the SQL service – so off I went to the SQL SERVER configuration manager – but the “Configuration Tools” folder was not there. That’s odd, I thought.
I soon worked out that the SQL configuration manager is called “SQLServerManager10.msc” and can simply be started from the command line – or from actually locating the executable and running it.
The configuration manager executable is called SQLServerManager10.msc.
I found this snapin living in the “C:\WINDOWS\system32? directory on my system.
I just thought that I’ll let you know in case anybody else has seen this program group not being installed – it’d be nice to hear from you if you have.
Cheers
Martin.
