  • I'm trying to setup permission for the user to access specific reports in the Report Manager 3.0

    i have sql server 2008 r2, i created reports, and i need to grant permissions to the users to view some reports only.

    i added the user and granted Browser role for the user, on the Main folder--> and the Report item security properties. but the user is gettting the

    can someone tell me what am i missing and where else i need to grant permission to the user?

  • Are u able to connect using that account from SSMS directly ? What kind of authentication are you using?

  • for connectiong to the SSMS i'm using the common connection that i have in the shared datasource.

    so the user for the reports folder is differnt from the user used in the data source sql connection

  • sorry I shud have been more clear , using ssms connect to reporting services using the account you are facing issues with. You may also want to check how your connecting to SSRS and the Report server databases as well as the data sources. NTLM vs Keberos

    where else i need to add this user to? to Windows users and where else?
