Recommendations for T-SQL Book?

    Hi SSC,

    I'm looking for recommendations to a good book on learning T-SQL. I know the basics of writing a query such a simple select/insert/update. I'd like to learn more, like joins, functions, etc.

    It would be really cool if the book a test database to download and exercises.

    I know I can scour the as there are thousands if not millions of pages including BOL but I'm looking to get a solid foundation before I rely on just reference.

    Any positive input would be greatly appreciated!

    T-SQL Fundamentals is nice book as recommended by Gail Shaw.

    Totally agree with Gail. Itzik is great, and if you should happen to get the opportunity to attend one of his sessions or courses, do so.
