Can not send SSRS reports by email

  • In a Sharepoint 2007 with SQL 2008 that has SSRS configured in Sharepoint Integrated Mode, the reports run correctly from the Sharepoint site but does not email out the reports. The error message below is displayed in the mange subscriptions page for a SSRS report.

Failure sending mail: The permissions granted to user 'MyNetwork\User1' are insufficient for performing this operation.Mail will not be resent.

I am logged in as MyNetwork\User2 and I cannot see any reference to User1 in the SSRS .Config files. What other locations should be checked for this account setting to be able to change it to MyNetwork\SSRSAccount?

  • Hi Mark,

Not sure if it applies as I don't use SSRS in Sharepoint mode, but what's listed on the Email Settings page of the Reporting Service Configuration Manager? (Shortuct should be somewhere in the SQL Server program group on the Start menu).

    Cheers

  • Thanks, I had checked that and the SSRS .config files that the configuration information is stored in.

  • Ok, see if the information here is any use to you:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345234.aspx

There's also a link on that page that goes into more detail on the structure of the RSReportServer.config file.

    Thanks

  • This is now working. The problem was due to user1 account setup the subscription and now the permissions have been removed from this account. It just required a new subscriptions to be created using account User2.

  • Cool, glad you found the solution!

    Gaz
