I have 7 mirrored databases and I run full back-ups everyday. How good is such a strategy?

Its frequent enough for full backups but to be able to use mirroring your databases must be in full recovery mode, therefore you MUST do transaction log backups as well.

The log backups is a must to keep control over the log file size.

Yes, in full recovery model you need to take transaction log backups. What are the current sizes of your transaction logs at present?

Daily, no. Hourly more like it. Every 15 min is not uncommon. (Didn't the cert exams cover log backups?)

schedule a log backup as soon as you can or else the log file is going to fill up the entire disk leaving the database unsuable..
Since you have never taken a log backup, You might want to shrink the log file once to a size which you think is good enough (after scheduling and taking log backups)

Thank you for the advice.
