I'm not sure anyone really cares, but I earned my
MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Database Development
certification today. It took a lot of studying as many of you know, but I'm happy I passed.

Congrats! Are you planning on sitting for the MCITP exam?

Thanks! Ideally, yes I'd like to try for the MCITP next. I hear books/study materials are scarce. Have any of you taken it?

Commercial offerings are scarce, and I think that's a good thing. There is only one book you really need, but it's not the one most people think of right away:

Congrats! I'm studying for my Administration test at the moment so I completely sympathize with the hard work.

Congrats!
Can I ask - how many questions are there in the exam?

Congrats!
How difficult did it seem to you? My biggest concern having never sat a cert test is a self-criticism that tells me I don't know enough.... so I sit here and learn, and help people.
I think I could take it, but if I failed on my first try, I'd probably hang my head in shame and consider a career change to garbage man or something. 🙂

50 questions
2 hrs to take the exam
If you work out some solutions based on the Skills Measured (that are posted by MS), you should be prepared enough for this particular exam.

I sympathize completely. I ended up taking the 2005 administrative test because I was fairly sure I could pass. I was so nervous I felt sick to my stomach all night, even after I found I'd passed.

I think something that should be of comfort is that some people just don't test well. In light of that, MS has the Second Shot program. From time to time they allow you to retake the exam at no cost if you fail it the first time.
