Sql server 2008 AS service disabled

  • Hi

I tried to connect to Sql server 2008 R2 Analysis services instance but not succeeded. It is not showing my local system in List of servers.

I went to windows services and checked, SSAS service was disabled. I couldn't start/stop. Why is it disabled. How can I enable

  • Should just be a case of double clicking the service in services.msc and then selecting either manual or automatic startup.

  • Hi

Thanks for the reply. Double click has started the service. How can I set the Log On as NETWORK SERVICE?

Currently it is Local System. When I tried to set to NETWORK SERVICE, it is asking to enter password. Where can I see the password for that account?

  • If you use the SQL Server Configuration Manager available in Configuration Tools in the SQL Server 2008 folder in your startup menu then you can change it there. It doesn't prompt for the password. Interestingly you could also change the startup type in there which I didn't realise...

  • Hi,

I tried but I am getting error "The Parameter is incorrect [0x80070057]

  • A very quick google found this: click here[/url]

That probably won't help a great deal but might give you something else to go on. Someone else might come back with something else to try but sad to say "it works on my machine".

    Thanks,

    Simon
