  I have created adhoc solutions (vbs, powershell, Excel, etc ) to track historical database info (e.g. database size, blocking queries, etc ) but are there any third-party tools that can do this (and a whole lot more) for me? Microsoft Systems Center ?

  Again, the emphasis is on tracking historical data not just taking current readings.

  redgate SQL Monitor is one. On the top right of these forum pages you can see it in action. It also gathers historical stats for trending purposes.
