Anyone have any idea about this?
During restore restart, an I/O error occurred on checkpoint file '\\lou2-data1\Backups\sql_backups\RestoreCheckpointDB12.CKP' (operating system error 1337(The security ID structure is invalid.)). The statement is proceeding but cannot be restarted. Ensure that a valid storage location exists for the checkpoint file.
I've verified that the storage locations exist...please ask if you need any further details
(SQL 2008 EE, 64-bit)

I'm guessing this is an NTFS thing, it sounds like the security ACL for the file is trashed, it might make sense to delete it and figure out what needs to be done to restart manually.

I'd agree with Elliot, this is an OS/NTFS error with security of some sort. The checkpoint file is being written when you go to standby during a restore, and needs to be there to continue. AFAIK, you should be able to bring this back online WITH RECOVERY, but not sure if you can restore more files without it.
Did anything happen, remote server restart, between the time this file was written and now?

Thanks for the input guys, I've asked our Tech Services department to investigate the issue further.
