when i am trying to give SQL Server Network name it showing error
error: the Sql Server Failover cluster network 'name' is not valid.The name must be a valid DNS and WinS name.
if i enter DNS name :
error: it showing name already exists
pls any one help me

What name are you entering when you receive this message?

This is self descriptive, the network name you are supplying already exists. Have your admins check DNS and AD, the name may already be in use by another host.

Hi - Can you tell how you fixed your issue. I am encountering the same issue while installing SQL 2014 cluster. I never had this issue in past, I have setup SQL 2008 and 2012 cluster in past using both machine and other name as the SQL server network name. Thanks.
