Do full backups run fine when db is corrupted?

I've seen backups succeed when the database has corruption in it. That's why it's important, periodically at least, to test that you can restore your databases and run DBCC CHECKDB on them.

Usually yes. For corruption to fail a backup requires that the corruption is really bad or in a critical area, or that backups are taken WITH CHECKSUM.
