I was trying to start Sql Server Agent in conf manager and got an error "The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other application error logs for details."
I then opened up properties dialog for the agent in config manager, but it hang up so i ended the task for the dialog in windows task manager.
After that i opened up Sql Server Configuration Manager again, and when i viewed the SQL Server Services it got stuck on "Requesting data from WMI provider"... The server is still up and running, but i need to configure the server agent, and cant figure out whats going on.
Any ideas?

Update: after 30 min or so "Requesting data from WMI provider" messege changed to "the server threw an exception 0x80010105".
Update2: After refreshing a couple of times, everything showed up again, and changing Log On As to LocalService fixed the problem with SQL Server Agent...
Problem solved i guess...

always nice when the alter-ego resolves the issue...

SQL Server configuration manager gives me headaches every week. It seems to be the most unstable part of the product (I have to end the process on a semi-regular basis after seeing similar things to what you have seen here).
