As you know, the SQLSaturday sensation has exploded all over the nation. So many events scheduled this year, there is sure to be one somewhere near you! If you’re not sure, simply check out the PASS sponsored site: http://www.sqlsaturday.com . If any of you want to vacation on the Hawaiian tropical paradise island, there’s going to be one there too!
OK, while the above venue looks fantastic, especially in light of the fact this has been one bad winter for the Midwest and Northeast, I’m going to focus on the two upcoming SQLSaturday events, in my neck of the woods – the North East. Hopefully, by the time these great events roll around, snow will be nothing but a distant and melted memory!
Since there are no immediately planned NYC SQLSaturday events, one must trek north and west to seek out the one in closest proximity.
So, on March 5, 2011, the home of Rocky Balboa, the Liberty Bell, Cream Cheese, the Cheesesteak, and for you sports fans, the Eagles, the Phillies and the 76ers :-), SQLSaturday is coming to town. Vince Napoli, president of the Philadelphia SQL Server User Group, and his team are busy planning SQLSaturday #69 at DeVry University, 1140 Virginia Drive, Ft. Washington, PA 19034 in Philadelphia. They are preparing to bring us four exciting tracks in Database Administration, Database Development, Business Intelligence, and Professional Development, so there is sure to be a session for everyone!
They are still making the Call for Speakers through February 4, 2011, which closes at the end of this week! So, if you are a SQL Server expert, MVP or Professional, and are thinking about or planning on submitting a session, the time is NOW! Know someone that's a SQL expert? Ask them to consider giving a presentation at the event! They are looking for speakers who can prepare and give a 75 minute presentation in the above-mentioned tracks. If you submit as a result of reading this blog, tell them I sent you! Some great speakers and MVPs have already made their submissions, but no official schedule and selection has yet occurred.
Popular and well-knowns such as SQL Server Magazine, Ignite8 Confio, and PASS are some of the sponsors sponsoring the event. For a full list of sponsors, go here: SQLSaturday#69 Sponsors
