how to restore tape backup

    Dear All,

    I am new to DBA activities, how to restore tape backup ?

    please suggest code and why should we backup on tapes ?

    You can directly backup a database to tape, however generally database backup is taken on disk and then the disk backup is copied to tape.

    Depending on your third-party backup solution, you should be able to restore directly from tape. However, as mentioned above, it is easier to backup to disk and then off load that to tape/cd/dvd/etc

    tape might be the best way to backup data, cause it is safe and easy to reserve. It can be kept by decades.

    but using a tape might be a little bit complicated than backing up to other storage.
