Hi All,
I'm trying to retrieve data from excel be connectiong through Analysis Services and I keep getting the following error message:
Data could not be retrieved from the external data source. Error message returned by external data source:
The "DATABASE NAME" cube either does not exist or has not been processed.
Would anyone let me know what I need to do to get back the Cube please.
Thank you in advance.

Are you trying to connect to SSAS from an Excel sheet, or are you trying to connect from SSAS to an Excel file?
Need an answer? No, you need a question

I'm trying to connect from SSAS to an Excel file.
That is not possible I think.
You can connect inside an Excel file to an SSAS cube though.

Hi ,
As I understand from your query , you want to create a SSAS cube from the excel data. If I am correct then the below link should help you with the information.

I tried it, but I don't get the option to launch the OLAP wizard.
It is quite an old version they are speaking of 🙂
