SKU Deployment Checklist: Upgrading Developer Edition to Enterprise Edition (x64)

    I'm in the process of developing a deployment checklist for an issue I discovered yesterday with an installation of SQL Server 2008 R2. The problem is that the Developer Edition was mistakenly installed instead of the Enterprise Edition, and now I need to upgrade the edition.

    All I have found thus far in my searching is how to go from 2008 to 2008 R2. If anyone can either share a deployment checklist with me, or point me in the right direction for how to go from one edition to another in 2008 R2, I would be most grateful.

    You will have to call Microsoft to double check, but I believe that the only difference between Enterprise and Dev edition is the license. You should be able to just enter a new license for the upgrade. Go to this url and follow the instructions for your checklist: http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting073.htm
