Upgraded to SQL 2008 and uninstalled SQL 2005 but it is still trying to run the processes. I have removed any registery setting for 90. I did notice that .net framework 2.0 and 3.0 are still installed but I cannot remove them from add\remove programs. Could .net be my issue? Help Please!!! 🙂
SQLAGENT90.EXE is down
msmdsrv.exe is down
MsDtsSrvr.exe is down
msftesql.exe is down
sqlservr.exe is down

When you say "upgrade" do you mean you upgraded the 2005 instance to 2008, or did you do a side-by-side install? I'm guessing side-by-side if you say you uninstalled afterwards.
And where are the error messages coming from? Are they in the event log? Wherever they are, can you give a bit more detail about them?

Duncan,
Thanks for the reply. I upgraded my instance then removed 05. I did test it on two other areas before going all in but I did find the problem.
I use a monitoring tool for the server. It was reporting those error messages. After hours of blaming the server I found that the monitor was still set to 05...errors gone.
Crazy....
Thanks
