I know that the concept of a private cloud exists. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? If so, is it installed and running on private hardware that is controlled by the company? I'm just getting started researching and I'm hoping for a bit of a short circuit if someone can just point me in the right direction.

While public cloud is installed and maintained by Data Center such as Microsoft Data Center,
Private cloud is installed and controlled by private company (enterprise).
In terms of SQL Server, Private cloud provides virtualization of SQL Server, that is,
multiple virtual SQL Servers can be created for the private company.
