HI All
Below is a Production Server Issue:
1.Due to some reason , the transational replication set up on the server has stopped working .
Initial Analysis revealed that certain tables and objects are missing from the Distributor dataase, eg:Merge_Sessions table.
2.The Replication Monitor has stopped working .
3.We are not able to delete the Publication thats on the server too. We get a message stating that cannot drop the objects that are missing.
This server acts as a distributor and publisher.
Question:
What is the best way to fix this?
Options that i have thought of:
1. Restore the Distributor database from the backup and try to run replication
2. If 1 fails , drop all the replication objects from the server
3.Create a new Distributor database ,publication and try to run Replication
Questions Again:
1. What is the effect of doing the above 3 steps on the other databases present on the server?
2. Is there any other better way to resolve this issue?

Is there a compatibility issue for nvarchar field between sql server 2008 r2 64 bit and sql server 2000?
The replication is failing saying An error occurred during running the batc statement .
Any ideas?
