We have a two-node SQL 2005 Cluster. I've recently learned that one of the nodes does not have SQL Management Studio installed on it. I thought SQL being a cluster-aware application, any installations done on one node are carried over to the other node. Is the Management Studio not a cluster-aware portion?
In any case, my plan is to intsall Management Studio to the node where it is missing. Does this need to be done while the node is active? or may it be done while the node is inactive?
I also want to upgrade the system (both nodes) to from SP2 to SP3 CU2. I assume this would be best done after installing Management Studio, correct?

the client tools(SSMS) to query the database are really separate from the cluster itself; it's no different than having Winzip on one server and not the other; it's not part of the Cluster itself.
