Hello all,
I have setup an alert for Transaction Log full. i am a bit confused as what the underlining configuration actually mean.
Can somebody more knowledgeable explain to me what this configuration is actual going to fire an alert for.
Transaction Log Full
Objest : SQLServer:Databases
Counter : Percent Log Used
Instance :_Total
Alert if counter : Rises above "certain Number
my understanding in setting this up is if my log files of from any databases goes above a certain percentage it will fire the alert.
am I correct?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, here's some powershell code that does that and runs a backup of there's an alert. however the comments describe essentially what you're doing: http://www.simple-talk.com/sql/backup-and-recovery/alert-based-transaction-log-backups---automate-your-database-maintenance-part-2/
