  I am migrating my sql 2000 sp3 servers to sql 2008 r2.

  SQL 2000 on MS Server 2000

  to:

  SQL 2008 R2 on MS Server 2008 R2

  These databases are not huge and I have the option of taking them offline.

  Just want to get the best practice before I waste a lot of time.
