Installed SP2 according to the instructions. No issues during installation. After SP2 was installed, tried to log into the sql server but coulnt' login. It says, server is in script update mode. Only administrator can log in. Did some reasearch on the web, and it says just need to wait and log back in. But after wating several hours, still the same issue. This is before applying the cumulative patch. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Please try reinstalling and rebooting the machine and check if the issue still persists

1. Check the install log for SP2
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log
look for error related to path information or configuration
2. Check the Event Log
look for errors related to path information on sql server, should point to the problem.
3. Look at your folder permissions on your system databases - fix any permisisons issues, restart instance.
