SSRS - Export report into CSV File

  • In SSRS Reporting Services, after design a report, i saw Preview. Report is displaying properly. This report contains 12 columns.

But, while i try to export the report into CSV file, it displays only 8 columns.

    Remaining 4 columns not displays.

I dont know why it is.

    Need help to solve this.

  • Guesses...

do you have hidden columns in the report?

    Do you have calculated columns?

do you have matrixes or groups to create new columns?

AFAIK, csv exports the raw data, nothing really formatted.

  • Also a guess, but SSRS can be particular about formatting. Are the last four columns missing? If so, it may be that you need to choose a different page layout or print format. You may be able to view them, but the columns are really off the page, depending on your preview options.

  • Thank you Ninja and for your replies.

    Now it's working.

Problem is i tried grouped fields to display, as per ninja's reply, i remove the grouping,

then i tried and got the result.

    Thanks again.

Could you please confirm that the csv export is basically raw data only? I'd love to know for sure if you have 2 minutes to confirm with a test (something simple like doing YourColumn * 0 and see wether you get 0s all the way or other numbers).

  • I have no numeric columns in my report, it contains only string and date.

I guess i can't do what you suggested.

    Any other idea...?

Note: There is no raw data, all are comes from database.

What I meant by raw data is the data that is the the dataset, without any transformation, calculations, formating or groupings.

You could do the same test by putting a column with YEAR(DateColumn). Then see if the csv contains the year or the full date.

    Thanks in advance.
